Generating playlists

The playlist generator wizard allow to create a playlist with randomly choosen songs from your library. It is available through the Playlists > Playlist generator... menu item.

Playlist name

The name of the playlist that will be generated.

Number of songs

Number of songs that will be added to the generated playlist.

Normal / Advanced mode

With the normal mode, the playlist will be generated using the entire library as source. The advanced mode allow to select a list of genres and/or a list af artists which will be used as a base for generating the playlist. Use the "Next" buttons to access the genres and artists lists.

Play after generation

If checked, the playlist will start playing after being generated.

Importing playlists

The playlist importation wizard allow to import an existing playlist into Jampa. It is available through the Playlists > Import... menu item. Choose the name for the new playlist and the file to import with the Browse button.

Jampa can import playlists from the m3u or xspf format. You may also want to verify the imported playlist, as it may point to non-existent files (see Checking playlists below).

Exporting playlists

The playlist exportation wizard allow to export one or more of your playlists. This is usefull for saving purposes, or to import your playlists to another music player. It is available through the Playlists > Export... menu item.

Use the "previous" and "next" buttons to navigate through the wizard's screens.

Export format

Playlist export can be done using either the m3u or xspf format. Choose the one that meet your needs.

Export to a...

Exported playlists can be written to a directory or added to a single zip file. Choose the method that meet your needs.

Select the directory/zip file to export to

Select either the destination directory or zip file for the export.

Select the playlists you want to export.

Exported playlists file name will be the playlist name plus the relevant extension (.m3u or .xspf).

Checking playlists

Playlist check allow to detect items in the playlists that do not point to a non-existent file. It is available through the Playlists > Check playlists... menu item.

On the check playlists dialog, click on the "Check" button. This will perform the check and display the results in the list in the dialog.

If you have results in this list, you may want to correct them by clicking the "Correct" button. The listed items will be removed from their playlists.

Until you click the "Correct" button, no modifications are made to your playlists. But once you have clicked this button, modifications cannot be undone.
